I have spent most of the last twenty years of my career helping the average citizen. My philosophy is that everyone deserves the rights that our constitution gives to them, not just the rich and powerful. So with that I began my legal career as a prosecuting attorney helping victims of crime. Prosecution was not really for me so I transitioned into criminal defense as an assistant public defender in both Orlando and Jacksonville where I was able hone my trial skills in some of the more difficult courtrooms, habitual offender and sexually violent predator courts. Lastly I moved from criminal defense to civil litigation at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc. where I was lucky enough to be trained in foreclosure defense by some of the greatest foreclosure defense attorneys in the country. Take a look at a few of these articles that were written about the work we were doing and you will see how we took the fight to the banks.
As you can see Jacksonville Area Legal Aid Inc. was on the front line of foreclosure defense and in training other attorneys to take on the banks in this field. I enjoyed my time there and look forward to putting the expertise that I gained to use for my clients.
Lastly, if you are in foreclosure and are thinking about hiring an attorney to represent you, hire one who does FORECLOSURE DEFENSE. It makes sense, you wouldn't go to a cardiologist for a vision problem and the same is true in the law. Knowledge is power and you will be up against very powerful elements, so hire someone who can level the playing field for you.
The current situation in Foreclosure court, particularly here in Duval county is unlike that of any other court I have experienced. There is little due process and it operates as more of a steamroller than a court. It is very important that you hire an attorney, at the very least to have someone on your side during this difficult time.
